Terms of Service

These Terms of Service (“Terms”) are a binding agreement between you and TRUTH Communications Media & Publications, an Ontario sole proprietorship operated by Wayne Hinds (“we,” “us”), governing your use of Digital Footprint Scanner at digitalfootprintscanner.com (“the Service”). By creating an account, running a scan, or purchasing a plan, you accept these Terms and our Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

The Service searches publicly available sources — search engines, social platforms, people-search directories, and known breach databases — and compiles what it finds about the identity you submit, with risk scores and step-by-step removal guides. The Service reports what public sources return at the time of the scan. Results may be incomplete, outdated, or include information about similarly named individuals. The Service is an informational tool, not legal advice, credit monitoring, identity-theft insurance, or a guarantee that any third party will remove your data.

You must be at least 18 years old. You are responsible for keeping your credentials secure and for all activity on your account. Provide accurate information and keep it current. One account per person; family plans allow up to four consenting member profiles under one subscription.

You agree to scan only (a) yourself, or (b) a person who has given you their clear, informed consent (such as a family member on your plan). You agree NOT to:

• Scan, monitor, or compile information about any person without their consent, or use the Service to stalk, harass, intimidate, or locate anyone
• Use results for employment, tenancy, credit, or insurance screening — the Service is not a consumer reporting agency under Canadian, U.S. (FCRA), or other applicable law
• Probe, overload, scrape, reverse-engineer, or resell the Service, bypass rate limits or bot protection, or share paid results commercially
• Use the Service for any unlawful purpose

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate this section, without refund, and may report unlawful activity to authorities.

• Free plan: one scan with limited findings, at no cost.
• Paid plans: Starter ($79/year or $9/month) and Pro ($249/year or $29/month), plus a one-time Exposure Report PDF ($19). Prices are in USD unless stated otherwise at checkout; applicable taxes are added at checkout.
• Payments are processed by Stripe. By subscribing you authorize recurring charges to your payment method.
• Auto-renewal: subscriptions renew automatically at the end of each billing period at the then-current price. We email a reminder before each annual renewal. You can cancel anytime in your account settings; cancellation takes effect at the end of the current paid period, and you keep access until then.
• If a renewal payment fails, we may retry and then downgrade your account to the Free plan.
• We may change prices with at least 30 days’ notice; changes apply from your next renewal.

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy (posted at /refunds and incorporated into these Terms): annual plans include a 14-day money-back guarantee on first purchase; monthly plans and renewals are non-refundable but can be cancelled anytime; the one-time Exposure Report is non-refundable once generated. Nothing in these Terms limits any non-waivable rights you have under the Ontario Consumer Protection Act or other applicable consumer law.

The Service, its software, design, brand, content, guides, and reports are owned by TRUTH Communications Media & Publications or its licensors. We grant you a personal, non-transferable licence to use the Service and to use your own scan reports for personal purposes. “Digital Footprint Scanner” and “Reclaim Your Digital Gold” are trademarks of TRUTH Communications Media & Publications.

Scan results are drawn from third-party sources we do not control. Removal guides link to third-party opt-out processes; those sites' own terms govern your use of them, and we are not responsible for their availability, accuracy, or decisions.

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available.” To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all warranties, express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that results are complete or error-free, that monitored data will not reappear, or that any third party will honour a removal request.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, our total liability for any claim arising from the Service is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. We are not liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for loss of data, profits, or reputation. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so parts of this section may not apply to you.

You agree to indemnify us against claims arising from your breach of these Terms, including any scan you run on another person without consent.

You may close your account at any time. We may suspend or terminate access for breach of these Terms or unlawful use. Sections 6–11 survive termination. Upon termination, your data is deleted per the Privacy Policy.

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada applicable therein. Courts located in Ontario have exclusive jurisdiction, except where consumer law grants you the right to proceed in your home jurisdiction.

We may update these Terms; material changes will be posted here and emailed to account holders 30 days before taking effect. Continued use after the effective date constitutes acceptance.
